Member of the Month: Mykenz Oates

Meet our June member of the month Mykenz Oates and her son Semaj!

Mykenz has been apart of #TeamTBA since March 2014.  She has struggled with her weight since the birth of her son in 2009 and decided that she was ready to put in the work to get her body where she wanted to be.  In March of this year, she weighed 225 lbs and as of today weighs in at 202 lbs!

Her advice to anyone trying to get in shape:

  1. No matter how much you mess up, get up swinging harder and know that tomorrow is a new day.
  2. Be patient with yourself, you didn’t gain it in a day and you won’t lose it in a day.
  3. Be your biggest cheerleader, no one can lose it for you.
  4. Get a great support system/group
  5. You get out what you put in! It’s going to hurt!
  6. Only you can decide where you are is where you want to be.
  7. Most importantly, through Christ, all things are possible!
